Program Director

Erin has been employed at Generations for over 15 years. Her duties as program director include: reporting directly to CEO Rocco Gesualdi, overseeing all operational policy and procedures for the facility and management of employees. Erin has been a significant contributor to the continued success of Generations.

Bill Estrella, RN-NRP

Director of Nursing and Clinical Services

Bill Estrella, RN-NRP has been actively involved in the delivery and teaching of patient care and system/organizational management for various Hospital, Community, and Field settings for over forty years as well as having many varied management and administrative roles. He is a Registered Nurse; Nationally Registered Paramedic; Fire Service Officer; Paramedic Program Director; Clinical Preceptor for URI, RIC, UMASS, St. Joseph’s School of Nursing; holds national certifications and instructs several Advanced Level EMS programs; serves as Consultant to Rhode Island and Massachusetts communities and organizations in the development and implementation of Emergency Medical Service Programs along with engagements as Medical-Legal Consultant to several area law firms. Lieutenant Estrella has been active in the Warren Rhode Island Volunteer Fire Department on both an engine company and the Rescue Squad for 45 years. He managed hospital emergency departments and was both a Nationally Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) and Massachusetts Critical Care / Emergency Nurse (CCEDNEP) as well as a proud Eagle Scout and former Scoutmaster.

Nancy Zarrella, BS, RDH

Director of Business Development

Nancy presents with 30+ years of healthcare experience. She is responsible for admissions, business development and program visibility within the healthcare market segment, managing small insurance projects, and the coordinator of access to oral healthcare for participants in need. She is an advocate for health and wellness, Certified Chronic Disease Self-Management Program Leader and a certified 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga Instructor.

Sue Babin, MPA

Special Projects Coordinator

Sue Babin has been working as a Special Projects Coordinator at Generations since 2013. She has over 32 years prior experience working for the State Department of Behavioral Health, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals (BHDDH) as the Administrator of the Office of Quality Assurance and Special Projects and Administrator of the Title XIX HCBS Medicaid Waiver for Developmental Disabilities. She has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Rhode Island. Sue is also a graduate of the Omnicron Class of Leadership RI. Currently, she is also working part-time as a Special Projects Coordinator for the RI Developmental Disabilities Council (RIDDC), a federally funded statewide advocacy agency for people with disabilities and their familie

Catherine C. Salerno, B.S.Ed.

Director of Employment and Education

Catherine Salerno has worked in the human services and human resources industry for over 20 years. After spending 20 years in workforce development and vocational education, Catherine can attest to the rewards and challenges of maintaining a well-trained and valued workforce as well as creating employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Catherine has a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocational Education from Rhode Island College and has founded, developed and managed a variety of businesses staffed primarily by people with disabilities that continue to be viable Rhode Island small businesses to this day.

Dr. Donna Cone


Dr. Donna M Cone, PhD is a consultant to Generations. She assures that the facility is in compliance with licensing and other rules and regulations. Dr. Cone also works with staff in program development.

Monica Fernandes, CNA, CMT

Floor Manager

Monica is responsible for managing all of the floor staff. She is the direct communication liaison between the participants and the administrative team. She is a Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant and Medication Administration Technician. Monica has worked in the medical profession for 20 years and previously managed an oncologists’ office. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her twin boys.

Laura Foley, B.S. Exercise Science

Staff Exercise Physiologist

Laura provides physical rehabilitative services to our clients. Laura works synergistically with our Director of Nursing, Certified Nursing Assistants and Case Management. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor physical activities and spending time with her family on the beach in Cape Cod.

Marcia Montanaro, M. Ed.

Case Manager

Marcia meets monthly with clients to notate progress or issues. Additionally, she constructs quarterly care plans. She serves as a communication liaison between family and / or care providers via phone, email or in person. Marcia worked for 32 years with the State of RI as a social case worker serving the developmentally disabled population. Marcia also possesses a Masters Degree in Special Education.

Steve McAuslin, B.A. Film Media

Case Manager

Steve has been working in the social services field for the past 4 years. He studied Film Media at the University of Rhode Island and received a Bachelor of Arts degree. In his free time, Steve writes and illustrates his own comic books.

Sabrina Soares, B.A. Psychology

Case Manager

Master of Social Work student, with a B.A. in Psychology. She has worked professionally in social services with various populations, for over twelve years. Her professional focus is on prevention of trauma, neglect, and mistreatment.

Valter Monteiro

Executive Chef

Valter serves as Generations Executive Chef. He works synergistically with an off-site dietician to create healthy, balanced enjoyable meals. All meals are created hot and fresh in our state of the art kitchen.


Certified Pet Therapy Dog

Chloe is a rescue dog who pays it forward by offering unconditional love and support to our clients. Chloe has achieved her American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizenship certificate and certification as a PetTherapy Canine.
